Metafiction : POPSONG CONTEST

Today is October 13th, 2032. I am a famous singer. And I went to KMLA to give a lecture to students about song and have some interviews yesterday. When I went to it, everyone said "Welcome!" and I was happy. I thought about the times that I was a student and I missed that time. I looked around the school and I found a paper that I had written long times ago.

   In my opinion, our class will win the first prize in the pop song contest. We will practice hard and win a first prize tomorrow. For the prize, we are practicing the song 'marry me'. Our class has the best singers and we are self-confident to be the best team in GLPS singing contest. We're plotting to show performances on the stage. Tonight we will practice and everyone will be participating in this contest. Everyone will enjoy and have a good time. I hope everyone enjoy oneself.
    If we did our best, we won't be sorry for ourselves, but I still want to win so we can have a special day and we can also get green cards. Our PA said he will give one green card for third prize, tow for second and three for first. We are very nervous and we are also very excited. I really hope that we can get a first prize. I heard that we can have snacks if we win the prize. I didn't have any instant for a very long time so this is a very good chance for me. If we can choose the prize, I'tt choose 'ramyeon' for sure because my favorite instant food is 'ramyeon'. Tomorrow, we will win the pop song contest and we will get a green card!!

I think this popsong contest made today's me. Thanks to it, I could think about new dream, a singer. And now I'm really a singer.

The Achievements of Archimedes

     Archimedes lived on the island we call Sicily in the third century B.C. He was a mathematician and inventor. In his active years there, he lived during the Second Punic War, the war between Rome to the north and Carthage to the south. After his father King Hiero the first dies in 215 B.C., his son, King Hiero the Second, switches sides and allies Syracuse to Carthage. Rome then assaults Syracuse using its navy by Marcellus. Archimedes' outstanding brain terrified the Roman navy with original ideas like a giant crane. After a few years of harassing, Rome managed to invade and in 212 B.C. Archimedes, intense thinker, was killed by a Roman soldier.

     Archimedes scientific achievements in that time were amazing. One, he understood the idea of buoyancy. Look at figure 2. Buoyancy is the result of the force of gravity pulling a block down and the force of water pushing the block up. The story is that one day the king asked him to inspect a crown of gold. Suspecting that the crown was not ure, he asked Archimedes to discover how much without destroying it. Archimedes did not know the answer and went to a bathhouse to think. He noticed that the water brimmed over when he stepped into it. Then he immediatel shouted Eureka and ran home. He compared pure gold to a mixture of gold and something else and found the pure gold is heavier and pushes less water out The lighter metal pushes more water out because it is less dense, so the volume will be bigger. Because the volume is bigger, the buoyancy force is bigger, the density is lower. When he compared gold and the crown, the crown pushes more water out and so there was less gold in it! By using this principle Archimedes found out the cheat!

     Two, Archimedes understood the principle of the lever. He didn't invent it but understood how to use it effectivel. The principle is the distance between the supporting point and each point multiply with force is same. So we can hold the object more easily if we understand the multiplication between distance and weight on one side and other. Heavier objects can be lifted with less forc but need a longer distance to do so. After knowing this he said to King Hiero, "Give me a place to stand on, and I will move the earth!" Using this idea, he defended Syracuse for Hiero by building cranes and catapults to harass the Romans, using the physics of the lever.

How to Make a Snow Man

Ingredients
6 tablespoons happy nose
7 teaspoons watch
1 cups bad key
3 tablespoons card
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Mix immediately with a spoon until different. Place on front lawn or other cold location. Bake at -123456 degrees for 4 minutes until snow is friendly and wonderful. Test with stick or carrot to make sure it is ready.
When done, decorate with a(n) jacket and a(n) hat. Use a(n) note for a mouth and beds for eyes.

An Ode to Mouth

Dear mouth

   Hi mouth. You are located under the nose and waiting for the work I give you. You always talk to me and others. But today I want to talk to you. There are many thankful things to you which I hadn't expressed to you.

   You help me to express my emotion. Sometimes I don't want to express my feelings when I had faults such as lying. I don't want to reveal it. But you moves when I do something wrong. You show others my faults. Because of you, I cannot be a foker face. Because of you I cannot hide my faults. I always resent you when you do something like that. But after, I notice. It is your important job to express my mistake. If you didn't reveal it, I would be stressed out and worried about it very much. Also, I would make more mistakes. Thank you for making me conscientious person.

     You not only express my anxious feeling but also happiness. When your tails move up, you makes something make humans happy : SMILE. Thanks to your smile, people can make more beautiful world. Your smile shares happiness to everyone including me. Because there is you, people can be happy and laugh.

    You help me talk to others. You moves your tongue. Tongues listens to my heart. He expresses to others what I'm saying in the hearts. Thanks to you, I can tell others what I want to say. How could I live if there weren't you? I couldn't call anyone when I was in emergency. I couldn't sing. Sing is very important for many people. Your song makes me relax and be happy. Thank you mouth.

    You give me many things. But I don't give you anythings. I even bother you. How much did you hurt when I didn't wash you and ate chocolates? How could you withstand the cure? If I were you, I would hate me very much. I always give you bad friends, candies and chocolates. Sorry for not understanding you. From now on I will try to wash you often and not to give you harmful friends.

The Viral Video : Lipsync

     Parody always makes us fun. When someone follows famous people, they try to find unique traits first. And they maximize that trait as much as they can. That's because it is easy to follow when we use famous person's unique things and people who see it laugh more if it is similar to that person.

     Lip sync is one of the kinds of parody. According to Wikipedia, lip sync is a technical term for matching lip movements with sung or spoken vocals. This word was originally for the singers who sing their song only by their lip. But it is used for comedy more now. That's because people laugh very much when they watch people who follows others by expression. Also we people surprised when       we notice that we can imitate others only by face, not the voice.

 There are two lip sync videos which I like the most.

 

First one is a part of Sangsin Elementary School Art Festival. In the festival, two students lip sync the song, La Traviata. They sing a song only by their lips and faces, but it seems that they really sing the song. This is because  they express the emotion very well. Also, they can change the singer. I was very surprised about it that one person can describe many people. Another thing that I was surprised by this video is that both students are boys. I think this video can be popular because it is very interesting and surprising.

    Second one is the lip sync of the song, Cinderella. It is originally Seo In Yeong's song, but Jang Jae In and Kim Ji Su sang this song again in Superstar K 2. They arranged it differently. And this video is lip sync of cinderella which Jang Jae In and Kim Ji Su sang. Because they have their own unique voice and features, it is easy to imitate it.

     The singers of this video is called, IUV. It means IU+UV. IU is a popular girl singer who sang "Good day" UV is very funny group who sang "Itaewon Freedom" So they are girls who are very funny. Their names are Lee Seung Ha  and Kim Ju Yeon. They take out the two badminton sticks in the guitar case. And they play them like real guitars. And then they sing by their faces.

Although the first one is a lip sync, it seems like real. Because they imitated the expression very well. Also they used some similar tools like badminton sticks and they also disguise like real singers. After they became famous by the program, "Korean Got Talented", they could have their own songs.

And there is a movie about lip sync. It is 200 pounds beauty. It is about a woman who sings very well but fat. So her appearance is not good. So she does lip sync for another singer whose appearance is good but cannot sing well. And one day, she started to thinking about being a real singer. She thought that it is unfair she couldn't be popular although she sang a song. So she decided to do a plastic surgery to become pretty. Then after plastic surgery, she became very very pretty that nobody could recognize her. So she started a new life, a name of Jenny. She became very popular and everyone like her. It is very interesting and touching movie about lip sync. It shows lip sync may not be always interesting thing. And this video shows the contents of movies and the background music is the ost of themovie which the main character lip sync.
